Curtain "Fontana"
First manufactured in 1998, Fontana was selected for its design by the "Officina delle Arti" (Workroom of Arts) and exhibited at the 1998 edition of "Casaidea" (Roman annual exhibition of interior decoration, furniture, soft funishings and accessories for the house) in the Culture section.
Design Luigi Cipriani.
"Fontana" has been named so because it reminds of a fountain, or rather a waterfall made up of many jets whose combination creates thousands of coloured light reflections. The picture on the left shows Fontana at night, illuminated by artificial lighting. On the right Fontana is shown in daylight, with natural light flooding in through the window-panel.

Fontana consists of differently coloured voile strips sewn together. The variety and overlapping of the different colours produce two different results: a certain colour is obtained through reflection with artificial lighting whereas another colour, matched with a moire effect, is obtained through transparency in daylight.
The curtain shown in the pictures is made of a pongé voile, available in 70 colours from Jab (www.jab.de). The shining quality and the transparency of these voiles enable creating an extremely wide range of colours and light reflections.
Fontana is operated by an ad hoc slide and its related draw mechanism. This mechanism enables the smooth functioning of tab and tie-top curtains, patented and manufactured by CA.MA. (www.cama.it)
