![]() Drawing of seashell-shaped sofa and armchair (1956). |
![]() Drawing of the outline of the Cipriani stand at the exhibition named "Arte della Tappezzeria" (Upholstery Art) held in 1957 at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome. The decision to exhibit his seashell models necessarily led Vincenzo Cipriani to redesign the sofa (maintaining its original style). In fact, in the meantime, having designed and patented a sofa bed whose "other" function he succeded to hide so successfully (among the very first ones!), he decided that that was the particular sofa he wanted to exhibit. |
Picture of the Cipriani stand represented in the previous drawing.
It shows the extreme elegance of the curtain and the sophisticated manufacture of the sofa bed whose double function is very well hidden considering the period it dates back to.
The use of latex foam was particularly innovative. And innovative was indeed the seashell shape that Vincenzo chose to give to his special creations. |
